These recommended instructions are for powdered teas other than matcha. For preparation techniques for matcha, please see: How to make Matcha. And for leaf teas visit: Japanese Tea Steeping Techniques.
We recommend using tea powders above all for lattes and other drink combinations. We do not recommend using them as a way to make a plain tea as the powders do not dissolve in water and often result in a grainy drink that doesn't taste like the leaf version of the tea. For plain teas steeping leaf tea will both create a better experience what comes to both the flavor and look of the drink. However, if you want to still try making a plain tea with tea powder we have attached our suggested method for that as well.
