Many of these teas have been originally produced for local consumption in their respective areas, but as more people move to the city from the countryside and the local population ages, many of these once popular teas are disappearing. Luckily there are still a few people and organisations working on preserving the production methods of these teas. As they are a part of the culture of the villages that produce them, preserving the tea making tradition is also a part of preserving the culture.
