While we like to focus on tea farmers first and factories as producers, once in a while a tea merchant comes along who strikes a chord with us. Sachiyo Nakashima and her daughter Miyuki is one such merchant. In an industry dominated by men, where women are still regulated to serving tea rather than making decisions, the Nakashima’s are a mother-daughter force for the advancement of women in traditional Japan.

And, their selection / blending of teas is amazing, as evidenced by the samples in this Tea Discoveries. We hope you have been just as inspired by these women as we are!
