Crafted with carefully selected Japanese ingredients from Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, Shippomaru is a refined shichimi togarashi that brings together the fragrance, flavor, and character of seven carefully chosen ingredients.

Made with red chili pepper, green chili pepper, genko citrus, shiso, ginger, burdock root, and Japanese sansho pepper, each ingredient is blended to create a harmonious balance of gentle heat, refreshing citrus aroma, and layers of savory fragrance.

From cultivation and harvesting to drying and blending, each step is carefully managed to preserve the natural qualities of the ingredients. The result is a seven-spice blend that offers more than heat—a complex aroma and depth of flavor that enhances the dishes it accompanies.

Among its distinctive ingredients is genko, a rare citrus variety native to the Karatsu region. Its bright and refreshing fragrance adds a delicate citrus note, while shiso and sansho bring a pleasant herbal and aromatic finish.

Shippomaru is especially suited for udon, soba, and other noodle dishes, where its fragrance can shine. It also pairs beautifully with fried foods, grilled dishes, soups, and everyday meals, adding a touch of Japanese spice and freshness.

Named after the seven treasures of Japanese tradition, Shippomaru reflects the richness of Karatsu's land and the careful craftsmanship of Hirata Farm.
