Premium Japanese Mint Powder (Wa-Hakka)

Naturally Grown | Hand-Harvested | Finely Milled

Experience the refreshing taste of authentic Japanese mint.

Unlike common peppermint, Japanese mint (Wa-Hakka) offers a cleaner, smoother flavor with a naturally refreshing cooling finish. Its vibrant aroma and refreshing character are free from the harsh bitterness or lingering aftertaste often found in stronger mint varieties. This exceptional smoothness comes from carefully selecting only the tender leaves from the upper 15 cm of each naturally grown plant, where the youngest, most delicate leaves develop.

Grown naturally without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, these carefully hand-picked leaves are finely milled into a delicate powder, preserving their fresh aroma and clean, refreshing character.

Try adding a small amount to a matcha latte for a uniquely refreshing twist. The cooling freshness beautifully complements matcha's rich umami, creating a smooth, well-balanced drink. It is equally delicious mixed into water, milk, or sparkling water, and adds a fresh herbal touch to desserts, chocolates, baked goods, and savory dishes.

From refreshing beverages to desserts and everyday cooking, this versatile powder brings the clean, vibrant flavor of traditional Japanese mint to countless recipes.

About Hiroko's Herb Garden

Hiroko’s Herb Garden is a family-run farm led by Hiroko, the owner of Akiba Farm, which is located in the green, fertile land of Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Akiba Farm has a long history as a rice farm, spanning 17 generations. Using byproducts from rice cultivation—such as straw, rice bran, and husks—they create rich, homemade compost to nourish the soil.

Without relying on pesticides, the farm uses gentle, sustainable methods that make use of beneficial microbes and photosynthetic bacteria to grow healthy, vibrant herbs from the ground up.

They mainly grow fragrant varieties of mint, along with several other herbs. Great care is taken in the drying process to preserve the full aroma and flavor of each plant.
