Oishi Tea Farm

The Oishi family has been farming tea for about 10 years, a very short time and on the isolated Tsushima Island without the benefit of a large community of fellow tea farmers. So we were surprised to discover a very (naturally) sweet black tea from this family.

Tsushima Island itself is said to be nearly 90% virgin forest, and has recently become a known among both Korean and Japanese backpackers as a rural, off-the-beaten-track travel destination (read this great blog post about travel to the island from Korea). The island is home to a type of leopard cat called the Tsushima cat.
