Tea farmer Kikizu Yuichi continues a 5-generation, century-old tea garden Sonogi Village, Nagasaki. His family produces 3-4 tons of tea each year, on multiple tea fields cultivating 7 cultivars including the ones offered on Yunomi: Meiryoku, Ooiwase, Saeakari, and the popular Saemidori.

The region is less well known among tea production regions in Japan, but has won dozens of awards at the regional and national level including the top Minister's Award for the guricha division (steamed tamaryokucha).
