Kuromame-cha (Black Soybean Tea) Latte Recipe

Kuromame-cha (Black Soybean Tea) Latte Recipe

Sachiko Murata |

Delicious, nutritious, caffeine-free, and sure to be a perfect drink for a cold morning.

Looks like bubble tea?  In fact, these black ones are not tapioca balls. They are kuromame (black soybeans)!  Kuromame-cha (Black soybean tea) is a drink with a nice aroma and a special flavor made from roasted black beans. You can eat the black beans as well as enjoy the tea. There is also another type of Kuromame-cha with a tea bag with ground black soybeans.

Adding some milk to Kuromame-cha is very nice to do. Dairy milk, soy milk, almond milk or oat milk, you can enjoy it with your favorite milk. Personally, I love soybeans, so I usually choose soy milk for the latte, and even sprinkle kinako (roasted soybean flour) on top .

For this recipe, ginger and cinnamon are added for flavoring and warming your body, also added some sugar. You can add more or less spices and sweetener according to your taste.

It is caffeine-free, so children can enjoy it.
