Introduction

Yamane-en is a family-operated tea shop based near Sugamo Station on the Yamanote Line in Tokyo. Yamane-en was established over 70 years ago. It is currently run by tea master Michio Shiobara. With 40 years of experience in the Japanese tea industry behind him, Shiobara-san offers unique teas sourced from small villages throughout Japan as well as a number of tisanes popular in Japan. Shiobara-san knows how to find the most delicious teas and tisanes. Yamane-en's commitment to finding the best products for their customers has led to them being a deeply trusted vendor in their area for decades.

Sugamo Station in Tokyo is a charming neighborhood with an old timey feel. It is also the home to a popular temple, people all around Tokyo come to Sugamo to visit the temple as well as shop at the areas' long established shops. Maintaining a shop here for over seven decades means truly having won over the discerning local clientele.
