YUNOMI.LIFE'S DELIVERY GUARANTEE: We guarantee delivery for all orders shipped by airmail with a tracking number. (Conditions apply. Exceptions when notified.) Occasionally, orders may require additional customs processing for import. We will aid you to the fullest extent of our ability. If your order does not arrive within ONE month from shipment due to no fault of your own, we will replace or refund your order at no extra cost. We reserve the right to refuse shipment if we think delivery to your address may be difficult. This guarantee does not apply if recipient neglects or refuses to pay customs fees & import taxes, neglects to retrieve an order held at a post office or distribution center, or if the order is not deliverable due to a wrong address.

What countries do you ship to?

To ensure tea enthusiasts everywhere have a chance to taste the best, we will attempt to ship to every country. Some countries (Russia, etc.) have no service from Japan unfortunately.

What kinds of customs fees / taxes (VAT, GST) will I pay?

For customers in the USA, you rarely need to formally pay taxes on orders under $800, but you may be asked to fill out a notice for the FDA (we will handle that for you).

Outside the US, VAT or GST taxes are often charged to the consumer, and inspection fees have been known to be billed to recipients in Spain, Portugal and Greece.

If using FedEx or DHL, this VAT or GST will also have a processing fee. You can arrange with us to have the processing fee and VAT / GST tax paid to us in advance to make customs processing faster, but this is usually adds 1000 - 2000 yen to your final cost. Please contact help@yunomi.life before ordering to arrange this.

Can you pay for import fees / taxes on my behalf?

Yes, but it is a special arrangement. The processing fee and VAT / GST tax paid to us in advance will make customs processing faster, but this is usually adds 1000 - 2000 yen to your final cost.

We will estimate the taxes you need to pay and charge FedEx / DHL's 3300 yen fee for the sender-based payment. Additional charges will be invoiced if different from the estimate.

Import licenses

Import licenses are not required to import tea to most countries. In some countries (South America, Mexico, Vietnam, Spain, Portugal), an import license is necessary to use DHL or FedEx.

Spain & Portugal (Extra fees, import licenses)

Local fees for postal mail include inspection fees as well as VAT, and this can add 50 euro or more to local fees for a single shipment. DHL & FedEx require a customs broker and import license.

How long will it take to receive my order?

If everything in your order is available, we will ship within 1-2 business days (we do not ship on weekends and Wednesdays). If items are missing for some reason, if items need to be procured from suppliers, it may take longer. Please feel free to contact us for an update.

DHL & FedEx shipping normally takes 3-7 days to most locations around the world. Postal Airmail may take 2 - 4 weeks, and EMS (the post office's internationa express method) can take 5-10 days depending on your location. Shipping times are not guaranteed though as customs clearance may delay any shipment.

My shipment was lost / stolen! What do I do?

If you have used a shipping method that comes with tracking we do provide a Delivery Guarantee.

Returns and Refunds

How do I return a product?

In general, sales are final due to the international nature of shipping. Returns may be accepted if a product is unwanted if the return shipment is paid for by the recipient.

I have canceled my order, when will I receive a refund?

If an order is canceled by the customer, the system may take about a week to actually show the refund on your bank records. It tends to be quicker if the cancellation and refund is initiated by our admin.

Can I get a refund for a damaged product?

For defective or damaged goods, refunds may be requested. A photograph of the damage must be submitted within 7 days of delivery. For physical goods such as ceramic tea pots, a defect must be greater than 1 cm in length.

In some cases, it may not be clear whether there is a defect in the product. If so, you may return the product at your own expense for our evaluation. In such case, keep your receipt for the shipping cost. If the product is defective, we will credit you for the cost of shipping and the cost of the product.
