Hello! We hope you are all staying safe and healthy, and have been enjoying this transition time into fall. At Yunomi, we are excited to offer 4 upcoming Online Yunomi Yoga classes held using Zoom.
Fees this month will be donated to our Coronavirus Tea Fund. As part of the Yunomi Community, please join us in donating a hundred bags of Japanese tea to Yunomi customers who have been hit hard in some way during the current coronavirus pandemic (either financially or otherwise). We will donate the tea, and your contributions will go toward helping us pay for the high shipping fees. Unfortunately, we are not a charitable organization so your donation will not be tax deductible in anyway, but we thank you for your contribution!
What can you expect in a Yunomi Yoga session?
We will be offering a few 60-minute yoga classes for mindful movement as we believe a tea-steeped life extends into our way of life. With the ongoing covid-19 pandemic we are all experiencing, we would like to offer an online space to move and breathe together. This month, we will be having a cup of tea before we start moving as a way to arrive and come together in an imaginary online circle. The theme for September will be on the Japanese concept of Ma (間); the spaces in between. We would be delighted if you could join us.
The general structure of our time together will be:
- First 15-20 min: Arrival into the shared virtual space with your cup of tea, introduce the concept of Ma (間); the spaces in between.
- 5 minutes: Transition time into movement
- 60 min: Mindful Yoga
- Remaining Time: Closure
Instructor - Moé Kishida
Moé was initially drawn to yoga due to her awe for the human body and curiosity in contemplative practices. She obtained her RYT 200 from Lila Yoga Studios (State College, PA) with Erica Kaufman in 2015. One aspect of yoga she appreciates is the ability to create space through the breath and movement. While always a student, Moé aspires to help practitioners find this unbiased spaciousness that is available to us all of the time (like the sky!). In addition to yoga, Moé enjoys contact improvisation, explorations in nature, strumming the ukulele, and of course, a good cup of Japanese tea with good company. While not actively teaching in the moment, covid-19 has made her curious about how to build connection and community via online platforms. She's also looking forward to exploring the dance between yoga and Japanese tea!
