Spring sencha leaf harvested extra young and processed by the Takeo family in early May at its freshest. The family uses no pesticides in cultivation and have isolated their tea fields away from other agricultural activities to prevent contamination.

JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard) organic certification mark.

Tasting notes

Light grassy but sweet flavor with notes of apple and mint. The aftertaste is buttery but slightly astringent. Tasted just after harvest in May with the below parameters. 

Steeping notes

The amounts below are guidelines. Adjust to preference.

  • Tea: 3 grams (0.11 oz)
  • Water Amount: 100 ml (1/2 cup, 3.4 fl oz)
  • Water Temperature: 60˚C / 140˚F degrees
  • Steeping Time: 1 minute
