Master dyers at Kyoto-based Maeda Senko have created the Shikisai (“colors of the seasons”) series of tenugui hand cloths to express each month of the year. 

February features the blooming ume blossoms (Japanese plum...actually more of an apricot) and the sweet songs of the uguisu or Japanese bush warblers.
