Tsuyuhikari green tea powder was developed by the Fukushima family as a convenient but all natural way to instantly make delicious green tea. High quality green tea leaves are ground into a fine powder using a stone mill making it very similar to matcha tea powder production. The tea is a vivid emerald green in color and has a sweet taste with less astringency than ordinary sencha tea. Simply mix a teaspoon of the powder with hot water and a delicious cup of tea is ready!

Create your original drink or use for baking or cooking

The less astringent taste of the Tsuyuhikari powder goes well with milk and can be served like black tea. Mix with your favorite alcohol to create an original cocktail, or used it for baking green tea flavored cookie or cake!

Ensuring safety and delicious taste

Seeking for both safety and a good taste is difficult because fertilizers and pesticides are a must in growing good tasting tea. However, both Royal Emerald Tea® and Tsuyuhikari Powder is cultivated in a field where the use of fertilizer and pesticides is reduced as low as possible. Taking over 15 years, the soil in which the tea is grown has been purified by mixing natural clay mineral, reducing the nitrate nitrogen and leaving the umami savoriness of the green tea.

The cultivar used for Royal Emerald Tea® is called 'tsuyuhikari', a tea plant cultivar originating in Shizuoka prefecture. It is a new cultivar derived from the cultivar 'asatsuyu', known as 'natural gyokuro', as its paternal cultivar. Unlike the cultivar 'yabukita' which takes up 90% of the Shizuoka green tea, 'tsuyuhikari' has a very delicate taste.

Traditional tea cultivation and latest tea processing technique

Tea is grown under the traditional cultivation method, which is then made into fine powder using the new processing technique. To ensure the vivid green color and the delicious flavor of tea as if steeped in a kyusu tea pot, tea leaves are slowly grinded in a special mill.Taste the real green tea with the Royal Emerald Tea®.
