Description
Master dyers at Kyoto-based Maeda Senko have created the Shikisai (“colors of the seasons”) series of tenugui hand cloths to express each month of the year.
November features Koyo, literally "red leaves". While the leaves change color in autumn throughout the world, the Japanese take this celebration to another level in admiring the beauty of, in particular, the red maple leaves. The characters for koyo 紅葉 are also often read as momiji, meaning "maple".
