Description

Have you ever seen a chasen (bamboo whisk) like this one? This is a traditional coupled bamboo whisk made specifically for whisking the local batabatacha from Toyama and Niigata Prefectures. In Japanese it is called a "meoto chasen", literally "husband and wife tea whisk". Batabatacha is a post-fermented historical tea which is prepared boiled. Traditionally, it is served in a bowl with a pinch of salt and beaten into a froth using this particular type of chasen. If you enjoy batabatacha, this whisk may be worth trying out!

Note: A few batabatachas are available on Yunomi
