The Natsumikan or amanatsu is a citrus similar to a small pomelo discovered in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, in 1740. (From Wikipedia) A familiar fruit in Japanese households, it is frequently used as a flavoring.

This tea has a green with yellow shades colour. The strong smell and the intense flavour are given by the ornage peel, which is sweet-bitterish.It is better to be drunk with a littl...view moree sugar or honey. view less
The aroma of this summer themed tea is intensely citrus, true to the description it smells like a citrus salad rather than one specific fruit. There is also the sencha aroma, delightfully fresh sweet grass and mown hay. It blends quite wonderfully with the slightly sweet and slightly sour citrus aroma from the Natsumikan.
The taste is mild and refreshing, it is very much so something I would want to sip during a summer day. There is a bit of citrus sweetness, again with the blend of different citrus fruits, and a midtaste of sour citrus, but it fades to sweetness again which is quite nice. There is a green, fresh grass quality that blends well with the citrus, the green is more vegetation than vegetal so it almost feels like you have the citrus leaves as well as the fruit. As the tea cools the citrus becomes sweeter and the sencha takes on a vegetal lettuce quality. This tea is good both hot and cold, and it might be the best citrus themed teas I have yet to taste.
Ocharaka's Sencha Summer Citrus provides a nice balance between the flavors of the tea and citrus. It should be a hit with anyone who appreciates a mellow tea with a squeeze of lemon (or in this case, orange).
I received this as a sample with one of my orders and it is delicious. I gave my sister a taste and now she wants some too! It is very subtle, but fresh and easy to drink. I would really recommend this tea particularly for people who aren't fond of strong or bitter flavours.
