a life steeped in tea

We use this tagline, as the central concept of the Yunomi brand, and for us, it evokes connotations of a lifestyle that is filled with the smiles of the people around us, the people who make our tea, the people who drink our tea, a life filled with the beauty of nature and art, an aspiration to connect with origins...

So yes...I admit, it is not yet clearly defined and as we expand to offer products beyond tea, defining this will influence who we work with and what products we sell. We'd like to get your opinions on this concept, and how you yourself are living a life steeped in tea.

Please post comments below, and we'll send a lucky three people a $50 off coupon. Update: Greg, Huong, and Travis were chosen at random to receive a $50 off coupon. Thank you very much everyone for your insight!

“A life steeped in tea” is a new concept in my life. I’m from Brazil, a country where everybody drinks coffee all the time, a world away from Asia and its rich tea culture. As I started to slowly learn about good loose leaf tea and try as many as I could get my hands on, I started to understand that a life may be steeped in tea even if you can’t drink the best tea all the time, or have to pace yourself because once your tea is gone it may take months until you can get some more. Tea is a way to keep anxiety under control, a way to be a part of a worldwide community of like-minded people you’ll never meet and a way to connect with cultures you may never have known much about otherwise. I want to keep my life steeped in tea.

A life steeped in tea is much like the tea itself. Sometimes life is bitter, sometimes sweet, and sometimes savory. It comes in many flavors, some of which are more enjoyable than others. In the end, however, it is all enjoyed.

to me, a life steeped in tea means a life where tea is always a part of your life. whenever you wake up, there’s a cup of tea, whenever you study or do work, a cup of tea accompanies you, when you go to the bed, there a cup of tea right on your nightstand. A life steeped in tea, to me, is a life that is warm and cozy, emitting a calm glow of light that is a reminiscent of the scent of the tea that you drink.

What I am enjoying most about tea is not merely the initial pleasure in drinking it, but the the opportunity it offers to refine one’s taste and continually amplify one’s pleasure. There is great depth and complexity available in fine green teas. It take some time and attention to realize this, and probably many years to develop an adequate appreciation. In this way the drinking of tea is like the experience of any art form. Eventually a kind of concentration can develop that is not exhausting, but enlivening and enriching.

A life steeped in tea is one of curiosity, diligence, and connectedness. I love researching the different tea types and terroirs, experimenting with brewing parameters, and occasionally sharing my thoughts online—as well as accumulating an alarmingly big tea stash. Along with being an end in itself, learning to appreciate tea and to make it properly also reminds me of the dedication, expertise, and cultural traditions behind something people often take for granted.

“A life steeped in tea” is a mouthful!
I have an anxiety disorder, and for years have been developing methods to best meet my fears head-on. Tea and Buddhism together have made a considerable difference in my well-being.

“Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future. Live the actual moment. Only this moment is life.” is one of my favorite quotes by Thich Nhat Hanh. I now incorporate tea into my meditation, and it helps tremendously in being able to let go of thoughts and emotions.

Tea is not merely a drink, it’s part of my life and practice.

We have a life so full that it is sometimes difficult to find time to pause and meditate. But combine this with a cup of tea, and the serenity will invite itself immediately. That’s the meaning of this tagline. Have a nice day

“A Life Steeped in Tea " means a life filled with culture, friends and peace.
- Tea has expanded my knowledge and appreciation for the Japanese culture as well as other tea growing cultures.
- Tea has also created bonds and strengthened them. Whether it was sharing a session or gifting a bag, no one has walked away from it without a smile. It is a perfect way to grow together.
- Most of all to me Tea gives me peace. Whether I’m distressing from a rough day, centering myself in uncertain times or just enjoying it’s life refreshing ability.

Tea is a constant in my life and I will forever steep in it.

This is a pretty clever tagline. “A life steeped in tea” to me means a lot of flavor in life which can be brought out by drinking tea. This tagline gives a sense of calm and quality which I believe this brand is trying to connote to its customers. I just recently gotten into Japanese Green Teas and I love it. I used to drink black tea every week but now I drink green tea once a day. So my life is full of tea!

I like this concept because I think tea can accompany any part of life. It’s there to comfort me when I’m sad, and it’s there to enjoy when I’m happy. It’s an unchangeable part of my life.
